Marbled Paintings
I began creating marbled acrylics on paper in 2007, thanks to a summer workshop taught by local Portland artist Susan Cowan. Since then, I've embraced marbling as a means of pushing my subject matter into the realm of "what if?" Marbling is messy, wet, and unpredictable---we do it outdoors in the summertime so that our papers dry quickly--but the rewards of producing a one-of-a-kind painting make it worth every moment of toil.
