Acrylic/Collage Paintings
Many of my acrylic paintings begin as under paintings on either paper or canvas. Sometimes I start with a monoprint: I squeeze out colors on a piece of ordinary plexiglass, push them around with my brush and then apply printing-making or watercolor paper onto the paint, and roll over it with a brayer or sponge roller. When I lift off the paper--voila!--the colors mix and merge to create something lovely that I can work with. Alternatively, I add collage to my acrylic paintings to give them more depth and variety.
